DIABETIC FOOT CARE
Preventative diabetic foot care involves the following:
1) Interval Foot Screening: To assess for risk factors that may lead to diabetic foot complications. This is done at regular intervals to monitor changes and change a patient's management plan as needed.
2) Regular Foot Care: Nail care, callus debridement, corn enucleation, pressure relief strategies, etc. Working to ensure identified risk factors are managed.
3) Footwear Assessment: To mitigate risk factors, limit the risk of foot deformity.
4) Diabetic Foot Education: To supplement your current knowledge base of your overall diabetes management.
